Celebrate the Presentation of Mary At The USA's Only Approved Marian Apparition
November 21st is the Presentation of Mary, so let us celebrate by saying a Rosary and visiting the only approved Marian apparition in the U.S.A.: Our Lady of Champion.
Our Lady of Champion refers to the Marian apparition in 1859 in Champion, Wisconsin when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a Belgian immigrant while walking in the woods. During the apparitions, Mary instructed Adele to teach children their faith and offer prayers for sinners' conversions. Adele faithfully carried out this mission, teaching catechism and establishing a school.
In 2010, the Diocese of Green Bay officially approved the apparitions, making it the only Church-approved Marian apparition in the United States. The site, now known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, continues to be a place of pilgrimage, where people come to pray, seek healing, and honor the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Billed as a "humble place of peace," the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion is a genuinely one-of-a-kind pilgrimage that may change your life!
Located 16 miles northeast of Green Bay, Our Lady of Shrine offers daily activities for all its pilgrimages, including mass, adoration, confession, and more.
Mass at the National Shrine takes place daily at 11 a.m., with additional masses on Tuesday and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.
When you visit, you will discover impressive, expansive grounds, which include everything from Grottos to an outdoor Stations of the Cross to an 1885 school house, oratory, history center, and gift shop.
Depending on when you visit, you may even be able to partake in one of the Shrine's many special events, including Eucharistic Healing Services, Assumption Day, and the annual Marian Conference.
Please note: Individual or small group pilgrimages do not require a reservation. If you plan to visit with a group of 10 or more, you should contact the Shrine in advance to ensure the best experience.
