The Shrine of Our Lady of Peace is the Perfect Place to Celebrate the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Every month of the Catholic calendar is dedicated to a particular devotion, and this month, it is that of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Who doesn't love to celebrate our Mother?

To kick off this month - which also celebrates Our Lady of the Angels (August 2nd), Our Lady of the Snows (August 5th), the Assumption (August 15th), and the Queenship of Mary (August 22nd), we thought we would introduce you to the peaceful Shrine of Our Lady of Peace, AKA the Immaculate Heart of Mary Shrine:

Tucked away in Santa Clara, California, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace was completed in 1983 and is the perfect place to honor and venerate the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace offers 29 masses and 26 hours of confession each week, making for a one-of-a-kind retreat.

What is a shrine without a statue? Our Lady of Peace has just that via a jaw-dropping 32-foot stainless steel masterpiece.

Nicknamed "the awesome Madonna" (can you see why?), the statue is surrounded by a lush and tranquil landscape, making for the perfect place for prayer and reflection.

In addition to Mary, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace also houses the must-see St. John Paul the Great Memorial.

As the name suggests, the St. John Paul the Great Memorial - which is located across from Mary - pays homage to St. John Paul II via a 7-foot-tall bronze statue from Progetto Arte Poli of Italy.

After seeing the statues, set aside some time to visit the Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of Peace Church, which has been opened and adorned every hour of every day since August 1976.

Don't forget to take a look at the on-site gift shop, which is chock-full of books, statues, icons, gifts, and more.
